Burgundy is best known for its culinary traditions and quality wines. The term “Burgundian life” says enough. Many people do not know that it is also excellent for cycling. Of course, it is not flat; it is hilly. That makes it even more interesting. The views are very divers. Good to take into account, after uphill comes downhill. Our Chambre d’hotes is in a hilly area between the wine region south of Beaune and the Morvan Natural Park.
We have a wide variety of routes available. Plenty of variation in length and environment. Routes from the Auberge start in various directions. Enjoy the French countryside, on quiet roads and with beautiful views. Cycling through the vineyards, seeing the farmers at work and discovering the differences between a wine and country village. For unspoilt nature, it’s great to cycle through the Morvan nature park with its forests and streams.
The Voie Verte is a special cycling project in Burgundy. Originally, France had no cycle paths. By adapting various old railway tracks, as well as the paths along the various canals through Burgundy, a network of cycle paths has been created with little difference in height. The Voie Verte passes through Sully and runs about 100 meters from our Auberge.
