Burgundy is a not widely known as a hiking area. It is characterized by lovely hills, beautiful nature and authentic French villages. In the heart of Burgundy is the Morvan National Park with forests, streams, rivers and lakes.
When walking directly from our Auberge, we see a lot of meadows, green hills with hedges and woodlands, beautiful solitary trees and many country roads. It is an old cultural landscape with long-established routes. The “Voie Romaine”, the old trade routes from Roman times, can still be found here.
Another area for great walking is the famous wine region south of Beaune. Walking through the vineyards on the sun-drenched eastern slopes and maybe enjoy a glass of wine afterwards.
We have a wide variety of routes available. Plenty of variation in length and environment. From a after dinner stroll to long day trips. A hike in nature or a walk around town. Up hill or a bit flatter. Forest walks or one with beautiful views over the hills. Endless posibilities…
Many walks are signposted. We have also mapped them. You can take the maps with you on your walks.
